I have been hesitant in trying Raising Queens Braids for my two daughters because I felt it might be just another “kid” salon that wouldn’t quite deliver. But from the moment I reached out to them to inquire about a same day appointment, they were outstanding in their customer service, from answering my many questions to the two stylists - Tami and Zakia being so kind, informative, and patient. My 4 year old has never been to a professional salon and is generally pretty tender headed, but even she said she couldn’t wait to come back. Thank you for taking such great care of my girls. We will be back 😊

I don't usually leave reviews, but trying to book an appt with this company has been a complete nightmare. It's been almost a year and a half & they kept canceling my appts with no explanation. Their communication skills are terrible. I have tried several times to get an understanding of what the issue is but the owner does not have the maturity level to have an adult conversation. It seems that she has a personal problem with me, but I have no idea what it is. During my first and only appt with her, she told me all of her personal business about how much money she makes, about how her and her husband are separated and living separately and how he cheated and etc. I only listened. By the end of the appt the supposedly "ex" husband calls her and asks is she ready for their anniversary dinner 🤔. I minded my business. I left a big tip. And I left. Later that night, she texted me pictures of my hair. I thanked her. I asked how was her anniversary dinner, she said she'll fill me in at my next appt. That was a year and a half ago. I've been there only once since then, I was able to be seen as a walk in, but the owner didn't braid my hair that time, nor was she there. But ironically her husband randomly showed up.. walks in, looks around, walks out, and leaves. I thought that was a strange thing for someone to do, but until one of the braiders mentioned it, I had no idea that was her husband! Since then they've canceled every appt that I've tried to book. I attempted to set an appt from my other number to see if it was truly a problem with me, and ofc they responded then. When they found out it was me, they said because I tried to book with a different name that I am "not allowed to come back and if I attempt to book or come there, it will be treated as trespassing". For what? As a grown man, I do not care about whatever drama you guys have going on in your personal life.. I just wanted my hair braided! Why do you need to know my government name? It's none of your business. No legitimate business operates this way. Needless to say, these people are unprofessional, messy, and weirdos.

Ariana at Raising Queens has braided my 9yr olds hair 2x now and we’ve loved the results both times. Definitely will be booking her again as she does a great job, is attentive, provides a great atmosphere and repeatedly asks n makes sure that she’s ok and comfortable. See y'all soon!

📌 Don’t want to read: BOOK WITH KJ!!! Come sit down! It’s story time. I found Raising Queens in a very unusual way. The owner, Jessenia, showed kindness to a stranger who posted a “thank you” online and I was nosy enough to do some digging. Judge, if you must, because my stalk is your gain! 🤷‍♀️ My usual braider canceled on me… again! 🙄 This time, right before my Wedding Shower. I reached out to Raising Queens - expecting the time constraints meant I would have to settle for a quick crochet style or something “easy.” Jessenia took the time to understand my needs AND my preferences before compassionately offering me her professional advice. 🙏 She suggested we use the appointment as a trial for my wedding hairstyle. Genius!!! 🤩 I was paired with a braiding professional she deemed “right” for my needs and scheduled for services THE NEXT DAY! Enter KJ… Y’all! I know what problems I took into that shop. 😳 My hair tangles easily. I didn’t know what length braids I wanted. I’m notorious for falling asleep in salon chairs. 😴 All I could tell him was that I wanted my hair to be pretty. This man had a looooooong road to freedom! I would post before pictures but mind your business. 😏 KJ worked through it all FAST. I’ve never seen hands move like that! 💨 The appointment only took 3 hours. He left me exactly where I asked to be… My hair is so pretty! 😍 I love it and my fiancé loves it, too. Our Wedding Shower is today. 💃 I’m so grateful that my steps were ordered to Raising Queens! GO BOOK WITH KJ. Let him bless you with beautiful braids!

Tamia has a wonderful attitude. I worked with her for the first time on Saturday and needed to come back on Sunday. She treated me with respect, patience, very welcoming and did her best to do exactly what I asked her to do all with a great attitude. Attitude & kindness will make any situation turn out well.
