My experience at Piedmont Eastside Medical Center this past Thursday was quite pleasant. I was running behind for my appointment and I informed the mammogram department of such. The young lady at the desk was very pleasant and helpful. She told me I would have somewhat of a wait, but for certain I would still be able to have my mammogram done. It turned out that my wait was minimal (I would have gladly waited anyway because it was my fault that I had to wait) and everything went smoothly! I believe in treating others well no matter the circumstances. So, I am most pleased to publicly say my visit to Eastside Medical Center on Thursday June 18th was most positive. At the end of my visit, the technician most kindly told me that she had enjoyed our conversation during my visit! Great customer service! Blessings to all.

From the time I arrived for my surgery the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to stay at the hospital for this surgery for a couple of days and was able to meet some wonderful nurses that were able to take care of me and explain everything thru the process. I would like to thank my surgical Nurse Jessica, she went above and beyond she traveled with me to my recovery floor and still helped there. I had the best nightshift Nurse Goodness, she was exceptional she was able to handle everything from making sure I was comfortable to my family made sure my medicine was given on time she went above and beyond. Then my last Nurse Emma made sure to explain my discharge information and showed how my dressing of my wound should be done. Thank you to the staff and hospital for taking care of me and my Surgeon Dr.Fred Koch, who came everyday to check on me thank you so much Resurgens(decatur).

I recently had surgery at Piedmont Eastside in Snellville, and overall I had an excellent experience with the medical staff. The nurses and post-operative team were compassionate, attentive, and professional throughout my stay. Dr. Mally did a fantastic job with my surgery, and I am now recovering nicely at home thanks to his excellent care and expertise. I am truly grateful for the quality of medical care I received. However, I was extremely disappointed with the hospital food service and patient nutrition support. If food is meant to nourish the body, hospital meals should be designed to promote healing and recovery. During my stay, I was served two meals that contained no vegetables, whole grains, or fruit. In fact, I essentially survived on apple juice during my stay instead of receiving the protein-rich foods that are well known to support tissue healing after surgery. Piedmont’s motto is “Real Change Lives Here,” but unfortunately I did not see that reflected in the patient nutrition experience. There may have been healthier meal options available, but there was no menu provided in my room, and no one discussed food preferences or nutritional needs with me during my post-operative care. While I was dealing with pain and recovery, guidance and support around nutrition could have made a meaningful difference. Hospitals should be leaders in patient nutritional education and set an example through the meals they provide. I hope Piedmont Eastside will take a closer look at the nutritional quality of the food served to patients so that the standard of care in nutrition matches the excellent standard of medical care provided by its staff and surgeons. Thank you Dr. Mally and your team, the anesthesiologist team, all the nurses, and the house keepers for a warm and caring medical experience at Piedmont Eastside Medical Center.

We had an amazing experience with the birth of our child two weeks ago. We flew in from out of town to be there for our surrogate as she gave birth, and so of course, we wondered if we would be treated differently as the parents or if there would be confusion over the birth of the baby via surrogacy - would it be easy to get access, would we all be allowed to be together, would we be treated well? Everything from start to finish was absolutely perfect. The front desk staff of the women's care floor were outstanding - friendly and caring. They took a genuine interest in us and the exciting next chapter in our lives. They were kind and helpful to everyone we saw come into the waiting room. The nurses and helpers in the delivery ward and then especially in the family care center where both our surrogate and (separately) we recovered/acclimated to the birth and wonderful new baby were all amazingly loving and careful and outgoing. Their level of empathy and consideration and helpfulness was out of this world. The food was good - but especially the stork dinner for the new parents - that was really delicious. While we were glad to leave and start our next steps, we truly do miss the friendly faces and smart, professional care we had while living such an exciting, special moment. We also sincerely appreciated how well the staff cared for our surrogate and helped recognize how we were all enjoying this special time together, and with great joy. I would also like to say that we felt a level of Southern Hospitality that warmed our hearts. I was just chatting with a friend up north who had a baby and while their experience at a great hospital was very good, he was impressed with several of the little special touches I mentioned we had during our stay at Piedmont Eastside. Thank you.

The doctors were amazing, taking time to answer questions and explaining things thoroughly. Most of the nurses were very nice, but others had a big attitude problem, like they are forced to be working there. Two mornings in a row, construction started on the third floor at 5:40 AM, waking everyone up. While you already do not get the best sleep in a hospital the construction starting that early was absolutely asinine.
