I have been a patient here with Dr. Mikrute for maybe 10 years. It’s been mostly out of convenience. It was nice to just be able to walk-in at my convenience whenever I was in need of an antibiotic. This is not the place to come for serious issues. For most serious health issues you are referred to specialist care. The last few years I have felt like they only have been out to collect my insurance money and hidden fees that just don’t add up. Today was another one of those hidden fee days. I payed it for the last time. After today I have found a new doctor.
Best doctor ever. Have been coming here for 25 years. Always cares. Big hurt
This review would not even be a one star if I had a choice!!!!! I scheduled a new patient exam to get established with Dr. Elizabeth Mikrut for my ill sister that just relocated to my home. Unfortunately I was not able to attend the appointment with her. This doctor informed her the medication she was prescribed could not be called in, that she had to hand deliver the rx to the pharmacy. When my sister expressed concern that she did not drive due to her health and was new to the area that she preferred to have it delivered by cvs, Dr. Mikrut proceeded to tell her “someone will take you”. So when I was told this I automatically assumed it was a narcotic. WRONG….THE RX WAS MACROBID!! An antibiotic that absolutely can be sent electronically and she could have had it delivered and started it the same day. Instead it was 24 hrs before I could get the medication for her and her symptoms have escalated. We will NOT be back to this so-called Doctor as she obviously doesn’t care about anyone but herself! How cruel can someone be that has taken oath to help people. I will be pursuing this situation further!
I used to go here frequently with my family when we were younger but thankfully I don't get sick too often since with my high insurance deductible it is just not at all practical for me to pay $85 to see a doctor, even Mikrut since none of the visit is covered by my insurance. I have been sick on and off for nearly a month, though, so I needed a doctor and knew that my sickness would be diagnosed and treated properly here and thought that I would receive a bit of personal attention and care from my now estranged doctor. There were not many people in the waiting room around 9:30 on a Monday morning which was a good time to arrive before many people had a chance to come after opening. I was called back to a room in a reasonable amount of time and the nurse checked me out a bit and did a strep test on me, another $25 fee. It took Mikrut around 20 minutes to finally enter the room, however, and she was only in there for around five minutes which was definitely the most disappointing aspect about my visit. I described my symptoms, she looked in my ears and throat and listened to my breathing and told me I had a bad infection and that they were going to rerun the strep test and to lay down for a bit since I was sweating. After about 20 more minutes the nurse walked in with a shot which I declined but Mikrut never returned to the room to tell me what was wrong with me or what my prescription was. I managed to get a bit of an answer as to what was ailing me from the nurse but when you end up paying $25 a minute to be quickly diagnosed by the doctor then I also expect for that to include at the very least a quick but concise talk with the doctor explaining what it is that is wrong with my body. On my way out I saw Mikrut and asked her a couple questions in front of the nurses that I would not have been able to otherwise bring forward, mainly about a prescription for a skin condition but she said I would have to come back for that. I guess $85 is only good for one health problem, and even then do not expect Mikrut to come back in after her initial diagnosis to tell you what is wrong; it will more than likely just come from a nurse. The standard of care and compassion here seems to have fallen and I was not treated like anything more than another profitable sick person to bring in and, at their earliest convenience, be let out. I told Mikrut it was nice seeing her as I was leaving but she did not recognize me, nor did I recognize her rather cold and aloof way of dealing with patients as little as humanly and medically possible.
We've been coming here for years- when I say years- over 13 years committed. The new male doctor and the male associate at the front desk are both unprofessional. Never had issues before having the past few appointments with them this year. Had to get a second opinion from a different doctor and prescriptions from them. Now- also being charged for an unsuccessful visit.. Core values need to be re-evaluated by the staff.
