I hardly do Mexican food but today I was in a quest to find the most authentic Mexican restaurant. After searching online and reading many reviews, I decided to venture to Chapo's Tequilas & Grill. They have several drink specials on different days of the week. Today, Monday, they had 2 for $10 Margaritas. I decided to try the Spicy Mango (see pic). This drink was beyond divine. If you like a bit of spice/kick, some sweetness, some salty, than this is the drink for you. It has real pieces of jalapeños 🥵 with a spicy rim, topped with a tamarind candy-ish straw. This drink is not for the faint of heart. I ordered shrimp tacos (los mar) with refried beans. For my meal, I had the Texas Fajitas with grilled shrimp and steak....it was served sizzling hot to my table served with black beans and salad. It also comes with rice but I didn't want it. The ambience was fantastic...authentic spanish music playing. The bar area has 3 TVs. Overall I had a great time and all of the servers were extremely nice and friendly. I'm glad I stopped by. Total: $70 (2 drinks, tacos and meal)
If you’re looking for a place with great food, strong drinks, and an amazing vibe, Chapo’s is the spot! From the moment you walk in, everyone welcomes you and makes you feel like family. The music and atmosphere always set the perfect mood. The margaritas are on point and they definitely don’t skimp on the tequila! I also had a Mojito and a Mezcal Jamaica and both were amazing. We ordered the chicken fajitas and the portions were great — plenty of rice, beans, and tortillas, and everything came out hot and delicious. Our server Devin was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. The service here is always top notch. Great food, great drinks, great service. If you haven’t been to Chapo’s yet, you’re definitely missing out! ⭐ Highly recommend!
I’m so disappointed to be leaving a bad review but the quality of food and service here has gone down so drastically over the last year. We decided to give it one more chance with a to-go order, where I was not allowed to wait at the half empty bar and enjoy a beverage for my twenty minute wait. The Mexican chicken soup had so much sodium that it seemed almost hazardous. Too salty to enjoy and I love salt! The street tacos have barely any meat and are just bulked up with pineapple (?!) and the salsa is mostly water. Please do better 🙏
Our food was prepared with love and good intentions. Each bite was delicious. The portions were plentiful. Our waitress was kind and attentive. I ordered the chicken fajita and my friend ordered the steak and shrimp fajita. We were able to chat and view three different screens with three different types of sports Live on a Sunday. I enjoyed the environment. You can bring your family Including small children, friends, and a date as well.
I was pleasantly surprised with the food here. No its not 100% authentic Mexican food, but it does balance it well for the market it caters. The chips were good but the black salsa was actually great! Micheladas are on of the best in the area, but 3 of 4 stars. Here is what I did not like, the camarones a la diabla were excessively spicy, yes I was warned when I ordered so thats on me. I just dont see any good reason to make them so spicy. And they were served with french fries and a bread stick...that was weird. My wife's tacos were great! I like the tortillas the most. Still I think its good food and good vibes.
